You have very few DBs and they are often very slow, because only in Reykavik cable exists, otherwise they work on DSL... Most owners have Sky UK. As you know you can get thousands of SKY UK Dreamboxes on BT and Virgin and the upload speed is much higher than in Island. You can compare: The first two IPs are from Simmin (Island), the two others from BT and Virgin. When an Icelandic ip is cable sourced, it can provide such an impressive upload speed to work smoothly even with hd channels. But obviously this doesn't apply to all cases as a formula of maths, as well as not all English ips can provide top quality performances.
Virgin is not bad - as you say - but for UK channels I prefer UPC Ireland, for being easier to scan and for showing a lot of useful results (fast ips with multiple tuners).
And yes, it's true that Icelandic db ips have only UK channels.
In fact I usually scan Netherlands and Sweden, for having a huge quantity of working ips and a wide choice of bouquets.

To play SD channels, 10 mb of download speed are enough.
